Tips

Chasing things

Most dogs love chasing things but avoid the temptation to throw sticks as these often get caught in the mouth or stuck in the back of the throat. Balls are a much safer option!

Training your puppy

You can teach your puppy the moment you bring your puppy home. Enrol in puppy preschool so your pup can socialise with other pups and also learn basic lessons such as how to sit and stay.

Walking your dog

Stick to cooler grassy areas when walking your dog in the summer as footpaths and roads can get extremely hot and burn the pads on their paws.

Dog Food

Don't assume you will be able to buy your usual dog food when on holidays. Dogs often get tummy upsets when their diet is suddenly changed, so take your own supplies.

Reward your dog

Reward your dog the second she/he does whatever you asked your dog to do. If you delay the reward, your dog will think it is for the next action.
